Kasaragod Solar Park Phase II to Include Battery Storage System

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy approved a 50 MW/100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the second phase of the 100 MW Kasaragod Solar Park in Kerala. This addition aims to address Kerala's evening peak power demand and complements five other BESS projects by Kerala State Electricity Board. The project at Cheemeni, Kasaragod district, received MNRE approval in February 2024, with a revised DPR approved in April 2026.
