Karnataka Transport Minister says bus fare hike won't be steep

Karnataka Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh revealed that the Public Transport Fare Regulatory Committee recommended a steep hike in bus fares, including 25% for KSRTC, NWKRTC, KKRTC and 40% for BMTC. However, he assured that the actual fare increase would be less. The corporations face annual losses of Rs 2,000 crore due to diesel price hikes. A decision on fare hike quantum will be made on November 4, effective November 5.
