Karnataka Seizes Over 22 Lakh Kg Rice, 204 Vehicles in Crackdown

Between August 1 and October 31, Karnataka's Food and Civil Supplies Department seized over 22.58 lakh kg of rice and 204 vehicles during 330 raids targeting illegal stockpiling and smuggling. The government registered 292 FIRs and arrested 250 people. The seized rice was valued at Rs 5.61 crore, vehicles at Rs 5.74 crore, totaling Rs 11.92 crore in assets. Belagavi recorded the highest rice seizures.
