A three-day crackdown in Karnataka against black market syndicates diverting rice from the public distribution system led to the seizure of 564.99 tonnes of rice worth ₹1.34 crore. The operation involved multiple agencies including Food and Civil Supplies, Commercial Taxes, Police, and Excise departments. Six cases were registered under the Essential Commodities Act against nine individuals. Twenty transport vehicles worth ₹3.41 crore were also seized. An international smuggling racket was exposed in Bengaluru Rural district.
