Karnataka Plans to Revamp Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS with Possible Tram

Karnataka's only Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) in Hubballi-Dharwad, launched in 2018, will undergo a major revamp by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT). Despite serving over 80,000 daily passengers, issues like waterlogging and traffic chaos have prompted DULT to seek feasibility reports for redesigning the BRTS or replacing it with a tram-train system. Final decisions will follow the feasibility study.
