Karnataka PAC Finds Government Land Re-encroached Despite Eviction Claims

The Karnataka Public Accounts Committee (PAC) reported that despite official claims of eviction, government lands remain encroached. Out of 62.56 lakh acres of government land, over 12 lakh acres are under encroachment. PAC inspections found encroachers returned in 22 of 43 cases, covering 219.14 acres. Only 1.5% of cleared Bengaluru Urban land was secured with fencing or signage, raising concerns about enforcement.
