Karnataka mandates online registration for RTI applications under Sakala Act

On October 18, the Karnataka government mandated that physical RTI applications must be registered on the state’s online RTI portal within two days, making it a guaranteed service under the Sakala Services Act, 2011. Failure to register on time entitles applicants to compensation and holds officials accountable.
