Karnataka Increases Bus Fares Across Four State Transport Corporations

The Karnataka government has raised bus fares for BMTC, KSRTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC, effective from midnight on November 4. KSRTC fares increased by about 23%, while BMTC fares rose between 33% and 35%. This hike is lower than the 45% recommended by the Public Transport Fare Regulatory Committee. The transport boards had initially sought up to a 90% increase. The fare revision includes ordinary, express, long-distance, and airport bus services.
