The Karnataka High Court ruled that merely filing legal proceedings by a spouse does not amount to mental cruelty or justify abandonment if there are valid grounds. The court granted restitution of conjugal rights to the wife, directing the husband to resume cohabitation. The couple married in 1996, have two sons, and the husband had separated after an affair with a student. The wife filed complaints and suits, while the husband's divorce petition was dismissed in 2017.
