Karnataka HC directs Bar Council to act against unqualified advocates
The Karnataka High Court has ordered the Karnataka State Bar Council to develop a system to identify and take action against advocates practicing without passing the All India Bar (AIB) exam. Justice HP Sandesh rejected a petition from an advocate who practiced over a decade without the AIB qualification. The court emphasized that unqualified practice is an offense against society and mandated digital record-keeping of enrollment and exam verification.
