Karnataka generated a record 2.04 crore persondays of employment under the VB-G RAM G scheme from July 1 to October 13, Rural Development Minister Eshwar Khandre said. This surpasses last year's 1.71 crore under MGNREGA. The rise is linked to El Niño-induced rainfall deficit increasing rural employment needs. Raichur led with 24 lakh persondays, followed by Bidar and Koppal. The scheme offers 125 days of work annually at Rs 382 daily, totaling Rs 47,750 per family.
