Karnataka Considers Official Recognition of Kannada Flag

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that the state government is considering officially recognizing the Kannada flag. The issue will be discussed in the upcoming Winter legislature session in Belagavi starting November 30, 2026. The government plans to allow private institutions to fly the Kannada flag and may mandate it in government-supported institutions. The proposal was previously cleared by the Cabinet and submitted to the Centre, awaiting approval.
