BusinessPhoto: Deccan HeraldKarnataka Coffee Production Likely to Miss Target This Year
Karnataka's coffee production is expected to fall short of the original target of three lakh tonnes this year due to inadequate rainfall, labor shortages, and electricity issues, said Karnataka Planters’ Association president M Salman Baseer. Production is now estimated at around 2.79 lakh tonnes, slightly higher than last year's 2.56 lakh tonnes. A failure of the northeast monsoon could severely impact next year's crop.
