Karnataka CM Seeks Meeting on Western Ghats Ecological Concerns

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav assured a meeting of forest ministers from Western Ghats states before finalizing the Ecologically Sensitive Area notification. Shivakumar highlighted concerns of local residents and requested relaxation of coastal regulatory zone rules in Karnataka, similar to Goa and Kerala. A delegation of MPs will also meet the minister to discuss ESA and SEZ issues.
