Julian Alden Weir's 1882 Farm Became Art Landmark
In 1882, American artist Julian Alden Weir bought a Connecticut farm that became his home and creative space. Initially focused on portraits and still life, he later embraced Impressionism inspired by the landscape. The farm attracted many artists and is now Weir Farm National Historical Park, preserving over 300 works of American Impressionism.
