Jharkhand Naxal Couple Mangal Mahto and Malti Murmu Surrender in Kolkata

Mangal Mahto and Malti Murmu, a wanted Maoist couple active in Jharkhand, surrendered at Kolkata Police headquarters in Lalbazar. They handed over AK-47 and INSAS rifles to Police Commissioner Ajay Nanda on Friday. Both hail from West Bengal, with Mangal from Shalbani, Paschim Medinipur, and Malti from Gopiballavpur, Jhargram. Mangal joined Maoists in 2010 and moved to Jharkhand in 2011-12. They were close aides of Maoist leaders Kishanji and Akash. Jharkhand police had declared rewards of ₹5 lakh on Mangal and ₹2 lakh on Malti.
