Jan Suraj to Move High Court to Cancel BJP MLCs' Membership

After the Bihar Legislative Council elections, two newly elected independent MLCs, Banshidhar Brajwasi from Tirhut Graduate seat and Dr. Rahul Raj from Saran Teachers seat, joined BJP on October 31. Jan Suraj party, led by Prashant Kishor, demanded cancellation of their membership citing violation of the anti-defection law under the Tenth Schedule. Jan Suraj called this a betrayal of voters' trust and a mockery of democratic process.
