HealthJamaica Health Ministry Launches International Recruitment Unit
Jamaica's Ministry of Health and Wellness has established an International Recruitment Unit (IRU) to address critical workforce shortages in specialized healthcare fields. The IRU will coordinate international recruitment, including bilateral and diaspora efforts. Shortages exist in areas like nursing, intensive care, oncology, and more. Partnerships and training programs are underway, with MoUs signed with India, Nigeria, and Ghana to recruit specialist nurses and doctors.
