The Jammu and Kashmir government has assured the High Court that a regular advocate general will be appointed within a month, ending a vacancy lasting nearly two years. The assurance was given on November 6 during a hearing of a public interest litigation filed by advocate Harsh Dubey. The post has been vacant since October 18, 2024, after DC Raina resigned following the formation of the Omar Abdullah-led government.
