PoliticsIsrael Supreme Court Overturns Ban on Arab Parties for October Election
Israel’s Supreme Court unanimously overturned a ban on Arab parties participating in the October 27 elections. The ban was imposed by the central elections committee, controlled by Prime Minister Netanyahu and his right-wing bloc, targeting four Arab-majority parties including the United Arab List (Ra’am) and the Joint List coalition. The Joint List vowed strong voter turnout following the ruling. The court is still considering a related ban on Arab-Israeli politician Sami Abu Shehadeh.
