Israel Prepared to Shoot Down flydubai Plane Amid Cockpit Attack

Following an alleged attack on the captain by the co-pilot aboard a flydubai flight from Dubai, Israel was ready to intercept and shoot down the plane as it approached Tel Aviv. After the plane dropped 14,000 feet and lost cockpit communication, Israeli airspace was closed and fighter jets were scrambled. The jets were recalled when the plane turned toward Saudi Arabia, which also scrambled its fighters.
