Isle of Wight Fossil Reveals Europe's First Megaraptoran Dinosaur
A fossil found on England's Isle of Wight, collected in 1924, has been identified as Europe's first megaraptoran dinosaur, named Invictibellatrix amberina. This meat-eating predator lived about 120 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period. The discovery sheds light on the spread of these large-clawed dinosaurs across ancient continents and was announced on 14 October 2026.
