Investigation Launched on flydubai Co-Pilot's Australian Studies

Australia has launched an investigation after reports that flydubai co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami, who attempted to hijack a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, studied engineering in Australia for two years. Al-Hammami, 29, from Oman, was granted a student visa in 2014, arrived in 2015, and left in 2017. His visa was canceled in 2019 after he was no longer enrolled. The UAE calls the incident a terrorist attack.
