Insurers Propose 10% Co-Payment on Health Claims from 2027
Non-life insurance companies plan to introduce a 10% co-payment by policyholders on retail health insurance claims starting January 1, 2027. The patient's contribution will be capped at Rs 5 lakh per claim. This move aims to lower annual premiums for customers in exchange for sharing part of the claim costs.
