Indonesia plans to remove stocks with concentrated ownership from its benchmark Jakarta Composite Index to prevent a possible downgrade by MSCI Inc. Jeffrey Hendrik, CEO of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, said this aims to create a more credible and integrity-driven price index. Stocks with high shareholder concentration make up about 18% of the index. The exchange will also disclose investor affiliations owning at least 1% of shares.
