IndiGo CEO Says Fare Hikes Likely Due to Rising Fuel Costs
IndiGo CEO Willie Walsh stated the airline must consider increasing fares due to a significant rise in its fuel bill. Jet fuel accounts for about 40% of operating costs, making airlines vulnerable to price hikes. IndiGo has already raised fuel charges on domestic and international routes, with increases effective from October 6. Charges now range from ₹375 to ₹1,300 domestically and up to ₹10,000 for flights to Europe.
