IndiaTech Proposes Revising Turnover-Based Gig Worker Social Security Levy
IndiaTech has called for a reconsideration of the social security contribution rules under the Code on Social Security, 2020. Currently, aggregators must contribute 1-2% of their annual turnover towards social security for gig and platform workers, capped at 5% of the amount paid or payable to these workers. The proposal seeks to revise this levy structure.
