Indian Stock Market Falls More Than Previous Day's Gain

The Indian stock market experienced a significant decline on Wednesday, with the BSE market capitalization dropping to ₹470 lakh crore from ₹473 lakh crore on Tuesday. Investors lost ₹3.76 lakh crore, exceeding the ₹3.6 lakh crore gained the previous day. Sensex fell 429.11 points (0.59%) to 72,638.70, Nifty dropped 173.05 points (0.76%) to 22,603.05, and Nifty Bank declined 72.85 points (0.13%) to 55,055.55. Most sectors, including metal, auto, and IT, saw losses, with Titan shares falling 4%. The fall is attributed to RBI's repo rate hike of 25 basis points to 5.50% to control inflation.
