Indian Oil Corporation's standalone net profit for Q2 ended September 30 rose nearly threefold to ₹21,630 crore from ₹7,610 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 30% to ₹2.63 trillion, boosted by ₹7,243 crore government compensation for LPG under-recoveries. Despite a 40% rise in Brent crude prices due to geopolitical tensions, the compensation helped offset losses from subsidised LPG sales. Total expenses rose 23%, mainly from higher crude costs.
