Indian Navy Sailor Arrested for Sharing Classified Data with Pakistan

A 31-year-old Indian Navy sailor, Pradeep Mukherjee, was arrested on October 3 at INS Agrani in Coimbatore for allegedly transmitting classified maritime intelligence to a Pakistani operative. The espionage involved a social media-based honey trap. Mukherjee, from West Bengal, was attending a management course and had been posted with the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam since 2014. Investigations revealed sensitive data on naval assets and fleet movements were shared.
