According to an SBI Research report, Indian government bond yields could decline to 6.75%-7% by March 2027 despite a potential 0.50% hike in the Reserve Bank of India's benchmark interest rate. The 10-year government security yield is currently around 7.43%. Historical trends and borrowing patterns suggest the yield spread between Indian and US bonds will likely remain between 2-3%. A short-term rise to 7.6% is possible but not expected to persist.
