Indian Founders Consider Early IPOs Over Private Funding: Meesho CEO
At the ET Startup Awards 2026 in Bengaluru, Meesho CEO Vidit Aatrey highlighted a growing trend among Indian early-stage founders to pursue public listings sooner, sometimes bypassing private fundraising. He noted that unlike the US, India sees both small and large IPOs, influencing founders to consider going public earlier. Aatrey emphasized transparency during IPOs, citing Meesho's December listing experience, and warned that the IPO process can last six to nine months.
