Indian Bonds Rise on US Treasury Rally and Oil Price Drop
Indian government bonds rose on Thursday, supported by a rally in US Treasuries and lower oil prices. The benchmark 6.94% 2036 bond yield dipped just below 7.40% early in trading. Gains were limited by a weak rupee and an upcoming large bond sale. The Reserve Bank of India had earlier raised the repo rate due to inflation concerns.
