Starting November 1, 2026, the Indian government will require telecom operators to display the caller's name along with the phone number on 4G and 5G networks. This Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) service aims to help users identify unknown callers and prevent phone fraud and scams. The feature, already tested, will no longer require apps like Truecaller for identification.
