India is advancing its defense capabilities with the DRDO-developed Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LR-AShM), a hypersonic missile planned for induction between 2027 and 2029. With a range of about 1500 km and speeds up to 12,348 km/h, it can hit both stationary and moving targets, especially enemy warships. Initial production will be 10-15 units annually, increasing to 25-40. The missile's complex flight path makes interception difficult, enhancing coastal defense with future ship and air-launched versions possible.
