India to Continue Importing Russian Crude After US Waives Sanctions
India is expected to maintain its imports of Russian crude oil at nearly current levels after US President Donald Trump waived sanctions mandated by the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act. The waiver, issued just before a 30-day enforcement deadline, applies to major buyers including India and China. India remains the largest importer of Russian seaborne crude, averaging 1.8 million barrels per day in 2020.
