India to Allow Market-Driven Airfares from 2027, Govt Intervenes Only in Extraordinary Cases
India has introduced new airfare rules under the Bharatiya Vayuyan Niyam, 2026, effective January 1, 2027. The government will not intervene in airfare pricing except in extraordinary situations deemed necessary for public interest. This policy continues the approach of letting market forces determine airfares without regular government interference.
