India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 Sparks Growth of 200 Chip Design Firms
Under India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, at least 200 chip design companies have emerged, boosting home-grown semiconductor IP. Over 105 startups accessed advanced Electronic Design Automation tools, with 20 securing venture capital. Around 70,000 engineers have been trained, nearing the target of 85,000. Five plants out of 12 approved under ISM 1.0 are operational. India is gaining international recognition for its IP protection and is engaging in global partnerships, including with Singapore, Europe, and South Korea, to strengthen its semiconductor ecosystem.
