India Scores Low on Health Integration in Climate Plans: Analysis
A global assessment by the Global Climate and Health Alliance ranked India and Japan among the lowest in integrating health into their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for climate action, each scoring 2 out of 32 points. The 2026 Healthy NDC Scorecard evaluated 117 national climate plans from 132 countries, finding India’s plan lacks meaningful health impact measures and ignores air pollution despite high related deaths.
