In September, India's imports of West Asian crude oil surged to about 2.8 million barrels per day, the highest since February, returning to pre-war levels. This increase came as refiners reduced Russian crude purchases by 14% to 1.8 million bpd amid competition with China. Gulf oil made up 54% of India's total crude imports, while Russia's share dropped to 33.5%.
