India's Medal Performance at Asian Games 2022 vs 2026 Compared

India's performance at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games saw a total of 85 medals (21 gold, 27 silver, 37 bronze), down from 107 medals (28 gold, 38 silver, 41 bronze) at the 2022 Hangzhou Games. Athletics and shooting, which previously contributed nearly half of India's medals, saw declines. Athletics dropped from 29 to 24 medals with golds falling from six to one. Shooting fell from 22 to 15 medals, with golds decreasing from seven to three. Rowing and badminton also recorded notable drops, while tennis, chess, and equestrian missed the podium.
