India's foreign exchange reserves declined for the second consecutive week, falling by $5.011 billion to $721.016 billion as of the week ending October 16, 2026. Over two weeks, reserves have dropped by $13.589 billion from a record high of $785.706 billion reached in early September. The decline is attributed to the use of FCNR(B) resources and RBI's dollar sales to manage the rupee exchange rate.
