India's Exports Rise 23%, Trade Deficit Narrows to $30 Billion in September
India's goods trade deficit narrowed to $30.2 billion in September from $33 billion a year ago, driven by a 23% rise in exports to $44.4 billion and an 8% increase in imports to $74.6 billion. Exports of electronics, engineering goods, and petroleum products surged, while imports of gold and fertiliser declined due to global price drops and high duties. The cumulative trade deficit for goods and services also improved to $13.3 billion.
