India’s crude oil imports increased by 7% year-on-year to 21.7 million metric tonnes in September, while the import bill surged 47% to $15.4 billion amid renewed West Asia conflicts. Liquefied natural gas shipments fell 8.5%, but the import bill remained stable. The net oil and gas import bill rose nearly 40% to $13.4 billion, reflecting higher costs for crude, petroleum products, and gas.
