India Plans 100 GW Nuclear Capacity with ₹7.5 Lakh Crore Investment by 2047
India aims to increase its nuclear power capacity to 100 gigawatts by 2047, with private sector investment expected to reach ₹7.5 lakh crore. Private players could contribute 30 GW to this target. Currently, India has 8.78 GW capacity from 24 reactors and plans to reach 22 GW by 2031-32. India holds 25% of global thorium reserves, supporting future nuclear stages.
