The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has amended India's drug import rules, requiring medicines to have at least one year of shelf life remaining at import. Biological drugs and radiopharmaceuticals must have 60% of their labeled shelf life. This aims to prevent expired drugs in the market. The changes follow public and stakeholder feedback and were notified last week under Rule 31 of the Drugs Rules 1945.
