BusinessIndia Eyes $100 Billion Swiss-EFTA Investment, 10 Lakh Jobs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India’s Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) aims to unlock $100 billion in investment and create 10 lakh direct jobs over 15 years. The pact will boost exports to Switzerland and encourage Swiss investment in biotech, banking, insurance, and sustainability. Agreements on migration and youth opportunities were also signed during Swiss President Guy Parmelin's visit.
