PoliticsIndia Expands Blacklisting Rules for Foreign Nationals Including Cybercrime
India has updated its immigration and blacklisting guidelines to broaden the grounds for denying entry or stay to foreign nationals. The new rules include cybercrime, child abuse, child trafficking, and cryptocurrency-related offenses. This follows the 2026 arrest of US national Matthew VanDyke and six Ukrainians by the NIA for allegedly training Myanmar ethnic armed groups in drone warfare. The NIA invoked anti-terror laws and sections of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, while investigations continue.
