INDIA bloc moves Supreme Court seeking ECI records on electoral roll revision

On October 12, Rahul Gandhi and 10 other INDIA bloc leaders filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. They seek suspension of the exercise nationwide, disclosure of ECI's internal records, judicial review of decisions, an independent audit of voter deletions, and safeguards against removal without notice or hearing. Petitioners include leaders from Congress, TMC, SP, RJD, Shiv Sena, CPI(M), CPI, JMM, NCP, and IUML. Respondents named are the ECI and its commissioners.

Delhi Orders Garbage and Dust Clearance by October 31

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to clear all accumulated dust, garbage, and construction waste from roads, medians, and footpaths across its 12 zones by October 31.
