India-Based Fake Call Centers Scam UK Citizens of Crores

A cyber fraud case involving fake call centers in India targeting UK citizens, especially the elderly, has emerged. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally seized assets worth about 3.72 crore rupees linked to the scam. Employees at these centers impersonated representatives of UK company BT Openreach, gaining access to victims' computers and banking details under the pretext of improving internet speed, then coercing them to transfer money.
